Lily often goes to the master’s garden to swing on the swings. The gardens of the wealthy landowners were truly paradisiacal.
There were numerous apple trees with ripe fruits, beautiful fountains, pathways made of stone, various swings, and other amusements. But everything would have been wonderful if Lily were not the daughter of a serf.
