Mark Benton was searching for a place to establish his own production facility. He came across a small farm on the outskirts of town, which he promptly bought.
But before demolishing the building, Mark decided to inspect what lay on his property. To his astonishment, when he opened the abandoned section, he saw a black 1959 Jaguar.
It was a breathtaking find. After all, the Mark 2 is one of the rarest and most expensive cars in the world.
It’s a true sports car of its time. Under the hood of the vehicle lies a powerful Jaguar XK sports engine, and the sedan’s exterior instantly transports you back to that incredible era.
“I was very surprised because almost all Mark 2 models are in England, and here I acquired an abandoned farm in a condition that is not the best in America.”
Given the environment in which the rare car was stored, its exterior was remarkably well-preserved.
Upon searching the interior, Benton discovered all the documentation for the car, from which it became clear that the Jaguar was last registered in ’83.
Mark put the rare car up for auction and expects to fetch nothing less than several hundred thousand dollars.
