Three children often liked to wander in the forest, which was literally a five-minute walk from their home. The eldest sister, named Angelina, always took with her a little basket given to her by her grandmother. Usually, Angelina would gather in the forest either a full basket of mushrooms or a full basket of berries.
Today our heroes set out again on a hike to bring back berries and mushrooms, thus delighting their parents. But as soon as they stepped outside the estate gates, their brother Kostya spotted some red berries on the ground.
They were small in size and there were so many of them that the children wouldn’t have to go into the forest; they could fill their baskets without leaving home.
What are these berries? Of course, they are strawberries – a perennial herbaceous plant and the most common species of the Rose family. The height of a strawberry bush reaches 20 cm.
Wild strawberries are widely distributed throughout the world. Its habitat range includes the European part of Russia, Siberia, parts of the Urals, Altai, the Caucasus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Baltic states, forests of Ukraine and Belarus, and some regions of America.
But the thing is, not only do children like strawberries, but rabbits also love them.
